LAKESHORE RESTORATION TAKES FLIGHT
To celebrate Earth Day, Navistar employees from the San Antonio plant and Advanced Technology Center cleared dried brush and debris at the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center. Equipped with shovels and clippers, the enthusiastic volunteers made space for fresh plants to reestablish and support native bird migration around Mitchell Lake.
TIDYING UP AN ILLINOIS BEACH
On Earth Day 2022, Navistar employees from Lisle and Woodridge, Illinois, partnered with the Great Lakes Alliance to clean the Chicago 31st Street beach in advance of summer. Nearly 40 employees collected more than 55 lbs. of garbage – including 1,500 pieces of plastic.

EQUIPMENT DONATIONS BOOST SKILLS
TECH EmPOWERment supports donations of heavy equipment, training aids, and supplies to technical programs to train students so they can skillfully service International® truck and IC Bus® vehicles upon graduation.
PREPARING APPRENTICES FOR “UPTIME”
Uptime Academy, a 12-month OEM apprenticeship program for high school graduates, offers hands-on training to prepare for a career in Navistar vehicle service. Local dealers recruit and sponsor candidates in the program, with Navistar offsetting part of the tuition.
BUILDING A PIPELINE OF TRAINED TECHS
The Navistar Service Essentials Program pairs dealers with local technical schools to build a pipeline of trained technicians within their communities. Since 2019, almost 200 dealers and schools have enrolled in the program.
INVESTING IN EDUCATION AT A LOCAL COLLEGE
Valuing equity in education to better support the communities where employees live and work, Navistar has created a three-part funding plan to enrich STEM efforts at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

LENDING A HAND TO CHICAGO NONPROFIT
Navistar’s procurement department and employee resource group ICAAN have partnered with Chicago nonprofit My Block, My Hood, My City on many activities, including a Juneteenth celebration, pantry and book distribution, and neighborhood clean-ups.
INSPIRING KIDS AT BLACK CREATIVITY FAIR
Navistar STEM Ambassadors shared their engineering expertise to inspire future innovators at the Black Creativity Career Showcase at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. They showed kids and their families how to 3D print their own single-cylinder engine and answered questions about what it’s like to be a Navistar engineer.
SHOWING OUR PRIDE IN AURORA PARADE
Navistar’s Pride Alliance (NPA) employee resource group celebrated LGBTQ Pride Month at the annual parade in Aurora, Illinois. They came together to celebrate the freedom to be themselves and showcase their positive perspective and strong allyship for LGBTQ employees and community members.
FUNDING BREAST CANCER RESEARCH
The Women in Navistar (WIN) employee resource group is leading the way with a national initiative to raise funds for breast cancer research as part of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event in 2022. Their efforts recognize and support Navistar’s own breast cancer survivors as well as others battling the disease.
