ROOTING FOR SUSTAINABILITY

PLANTING HOPE FOR A HEALTHIER WORLD

Navistar’s Escobedo Assembly Plant (EAP) team has been ‘all shovels in’ on their sustainability efforts. About 60 EAP employees recently celebrated National Tree Day in Mexico by volunteering for a reforestation campaign. They planted more than 30 trees on facility grounds and in an adjacent area devastated by fire.

Trees represent growth, strength and hope – much like the EAP team who are rooting out carbon emissions to counteract climate change.

GROWING TOGETHER FOR THE BETTER

The National Tree Day initiative supplemented their earlier work planting another 200 native trees in the area. The trees offset an average of 2,400 kg of carbon dioxide (C02) annually to improve air quality and reduce rising temperatures caused by climate change.

To create more biodiversity, which delivers resilience to climate change, the team added new green spaces and gardens that have attracted wildlife and vital pollinators, such as bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
