Will defied his lifelong fear of heights by taking up rock climbing. He’s pushed himself further with bouldering – doing shorter climbs without a rope or harness.

RESOURCEFUL INSPIRATION SEEKER

This disciplined approach combined with Will’s passion for driverless truck technology powers his creative problem-solving abilities. He designs and packages the complex radars, leaders and cameras on autonomous trucks to help them “see.” When a bulky radar cover wasn’t hitting the mark, Will hopped on his bike for fresh air and a new perspective. He found inspiration cycling through the Indiana Dunes, where he pictured how to mount the radar cover in the best way possible. “Our customers want trucks that not only perform well, but look good, too.”

AERODYNAMICS ADMIRER

Will enthusiastically describes his team’s goal: make Navistar’s vehicles as aerodynamic and sustainable as possible. He thrives on the intense collaboration with many groups – electrical, industrial design, exteriors, procurement, validation and outside suppliers. 

LEADER WITH HEART

“It’s always nice to help out the new guys.” Just say the word and Will’s ready to lend a helping hand. Supporting the next generation brings him joy, whether he’s tutoring seventh- and eighth-graders in Chicago public schools, fundraising for the students or mentoring new engineers. Navistar’s flexible work hours give him the agility to balance matters of both his head and heart.
